Ben Rauzi (19) is a freshman at Iowa State University and is currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering (with no idea where that will take him in the future).
Though he is fairly certain no one in their right mind would ever refer to him as cultured, he has various interests in pop culture. These include, but are not limited to (no this isn’t a medicine side effects disclaimer), music and movies. He has been involved in concert and marching band since fifth grade, but his interests in popular music focus on rock music, anywhere from alt-rock to pop-rock to synth-rock…you get the idea.
He has become an avid concert-goer recently, attending Cage the Elephant, AWOLNATION and Imagine Dragons shows in recent years. He even has a rock band of his own, called Good Trouble, with some buddies from high school!
He loves many kinds of movies, as well, although he is particularly fond of sci-fi and action movies (SUPERHEROES!). He and some of his closest friends made it a summer tradition to see many movies (he saw 23 movies in theaters through all of 2014).
Lastly, Ben is a huge sports fan. Raised proudly by his father to love the Minnesota Wild, Vikings, Twins and Timberwolves, he has now branched out to embrace the "beautiful game" of soccer as a Seattle Sounders and Manchester City supporter.
This is Ben. This is his life as a massive nerd.
