Mel Blanke (21) is a senior at Mercer University double majoring in marketing and media studies with a double minor in dirty feminism (i.e. women’s and gender studies) and embarrassing herself at frat parties. She is just now realizing that she will most likely be made fun of by this staff for being a (long-suffering) New York Mets fan.
Mel’s dreams are to adopt all the homeless dogs ever and to eat as much pizza as she wants without imploding. Mel’s slightly more realistic dream is to work for Disney doing absolutely anything they will give her. She will take all three, though, if available.
If you can’t find Mel cleaning up the endless dog hair in her room, you could most likely catch her watching Bob’s Burgers for six hours straight, crying over the death of Sirius Black or listening to some super unknown, underground rap (so hip, so cool).
Mel’s guilty pleasures include fuzzy socks, stealing little bottles of shampoo from hotels, anything with Seth Rogen in it, waffle makers shaped like Mickey Mouse and The Bachelorette.
Mel clings on to her reign as Atlanta Girls’ School’s 2013 senior Class, “Class Clown” title, until she may realize she isn’t that funny after all.
Mel is a die hard Hufflepuff. Don’t you dare laugh.
“God is living in New York, and he’s a Mets fan.”
